The Scriptural Foundations of Dance will be taught, including dance techniques.
Upon completion of her training, Elisa moved to New York City, N. Y., and studied at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. As a student on the Certificate Program, Elisa was introduced to various forms of dance styles as in the Lester Horton and the Martha Graham techniques of dance.
Ms. Kimble refined her skills by training in classical ballet at The Dance Theater of Harlem as a pre-professional dance III student. Her dance training has opened many doors and provided performance opportunities both abroad and within the United States.
Dance Class Description
Women: Ages 20 – 55 and Up
Contemporary Dance
This is an open-level dance class welcoming beginner and advanced students. The class will combine basic techniques in ballet, lyrical, and modern dance by providing a framework to learn form, posture, and presentation for creative expression, and spiritual inspiration.
Dance Type – Liturgical
Description: Liturgical dance is similar in style to lyrical.
It incorporates dance genres of ballet, jazz, and modern while allowing freedom in expressions and interpretation of the music’s lyrics.
Liturgical dance is done in various styles and may focus on worship, storytelling, prayer, and much more. This style is not confined to any Christian denomination and can be performed as part of a worship service, teaching, or as a performance of its own!

About The Instructor:
Dance Class Instructor: Elisa Kimble was introduced to dance in her junior year in high school at Potomac Sr. High school in Prince Georges County, Md. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of the District of Columbia where she continued her dance studies under Edna Long.
